Norway’s highest uphill race – and down again. Two races with different altitudes and distances. A weekend filled with experiences for both big and small, based on everything the village has to offer.

1851OppNed Norddal 2020!

On the 18th of July, Norddal is ready to host a Skyrace for the fourth time. Like previous years, there will be two races to choose from, as well as the option to hike the distance.

Starting in the village, both races will follow the same path until you reach Daurmålsfjellet at 805 meters above sea level. This is the turning point in the shortest race. If you’ve chosen the longest race, the path will lead you to the top of Torvløysa, with an altitude of 1851 meters. In order to finish the race, you’ll have to descend and go all the way down to the finish line.

In addition to this, participants can choose to hike the distance. Starting at Rellingsetra, hikers can follow the path all the way to the top of Torvløysa or to Daurmålsfjellet. The shorter hike is especially well suited for families.

We’re using a registration and timekeeping system called Racetracker to have a good overview of the participants. At this moment, there’s a participation limit set to a maximum of 200 people. Additionally, every participant who’s entered the races will have a GPS tracking and timekeeping chip on their foot. Every participant has to stop by at the start/finish line in order to register and get their start number.

There’s enough space in the village and in the mountain to uphold the required distance between people, as required by FHI.
